How To Get Rid of Hyperpigmentation On Dark Skin

The dark skin from Asian, African and Indian break the skin from burn or pimple the skin cells produce enough melanin for protection resulting patches of dark spots. As the sun light heat the skin the dark spots become darker and linger for months together or years.

We will discuss indetail the natural remedies but before that we can give some idea about artificial treatment using chemical peels, creams, lotion and so many.

For hyperpigmentation treatment you can use some products like Meladerm, white lucent brightening moisturizing cream, potent botanical skin brightening gel, new derm clear skin brightening cream, discoloration reversal moisturizer and many more.

Hydroquinone:

The most common and popular method of regaining the skin to its original state is done by using products containing hydtoquinone, a chemical lightning agent applied directly to the affected skin.

Hydroquinone block an enzyme that accelerate production pigment melanin. Hydroquinone products can be purchased from market 1-2% concentration and 3-4% oncentration with prescription. The prescribed hydroquinone products are more effective than other products.

Side effects: The burning, redness and irritation are the possible side effects. It is also found that your normal skin may change to lighter color as dark discoloration. As soon as you find any of the side effects avoid its application and better consult with dermatologist.

Retinoids:

The patients those are with post imflammatory hyperpigmentation, acne or pimple can be trated with another common and popular ingredient Retinoid .Retinoids are derivatives from vitamin A and include Retin-A, Differin, and Tazorac. All ratinoids are effective in the treatment of acne and hyperpigmentation.

Side Effects: The possible side effects are dryness, irritation and peeling of the skin. It is always better to treat under the guidance of a dermatologist who can closely watch the skin appearance.

Azelaic Acid:

Azelaic acid is another ingredient like Retinoid which can treat both PIH and acne. This acid has got antibacterial, anti imflammatory,and skin lightening properties It is particularly suitable for those who cannot tolerate the effect of hydroquinone.

Glycolic Acid:

This product works by bexfoliating very gently the upper most layer of skin and so the the dark marks are removed.. There are many products that contain glycolic acid. These include cream, gel, lotion and toner.

The concentration of acid varies from 5-20%.The more the percentage of concentration the more better effect. The possible side effect is skin irritation. Though the natural treatment is far better than artificial most people like to use hyperpigmentation treatment cream than natural treatment.

Laser treatment on dark skin hyperpigmentation:

The laser vtreatment for dark skin hyperpigmentation is most difficult and challenging the skin being Asian, African and Indians. In case of unstable melasma and for ethnic skin some small test are done before taking leaser treatment.

If however the patient skin is reactive, laser treatment is undone. The laser treatment is done for a particular person with specific treatment.In some case s melasma may grow darker.

PIH Post Imflammatory Hyperpigmentation:

Post inflammatory hyperpigmentation occurs when an injury occurs and consequently skin is inflamed. The inflamed skin triggers production of more melanin and if melanin production occurs in upper layer of skin the spots are darker.

PIH is most common among the people of Africa, Asia and Indians both men and women.There are two types of primary hyperpigmentation—melasma and dark brown. Some types of grugs induce hyperpigmentation lke amiodarone, antimalarials,and bleomycin.

Symptoms and causes of dark skin

In most cases darker skin is caused by hyperperpigmentation is uneven and appears in the form of dark patches. Dark skin caused by hyperpigmentation include;

  • Uneven dark brown colored patches on the skin.
  • Appearance of blemishes on face and other body parts.
  • Difference in the skin tone.

Some of the more serious causes of darker skin include:

  • Addisons disease where adrenal glands do not produce required amount hormones.
  • Autoimmune disease such as lupus where immune system attacks body tissue and organs.
  • Intestinal disorder.

Remedies for Dark skin:

Though there are hundreds of natural remedies are available both natural and artificial the most commonly used natural home remedies are:

  1. Mix one teaspoon milk powder, one teaspoon almond oil, one teaspoon lemon juice and one teaspoon honey to make paste. Apply some paste on the affected skin and keep for 20 minutes. Then rinse with lukewarm water . Apply for ½ weeks until you get the result.
  2. Add some oatmeal with unflavored yogurt to make paste. Apply paste on the affected skin and allow for 20 minutes. Then wash the surface with lukewarm water. In this way continue for 2 weeks and you will find good result.
  3. Potato has excellent bleaching properties. So cut potato in slices and apply on the affected area of dark skin. You will notice the is lightened.
  4. Take some unflavored yogurt and mix it some grated dry orange peels to it. Finally make paste and apply on skin. You get a good result.
